How I Snuck into the Cyber Rodeo: A Social Engineering Tale
The Cyber Rodeo event was an extravagant event that showcased Tesla’s latest advancements in technology and automation, concept products, and the much-awaited Gigafactory, featuring Elon Musk and his Tesla team. The complex had state-of-the-art facilities, and the entire event was a showcase of Tesla’s innovation and engineering capabilities.From the challenges of getting past the entrance gate to the highlights of the event, including Elon Musk’s presentation, this is a tale of determination and creativity.
Access Denied
Getting access to the Cyber Rodeo event was a daunting task. I was determined to attend the event, but we had no invitation. I tried different tactics to get access to the event, including photoshopping a fake QR code from people’s twitter posts. However, flashing the ticket only gave us access to the employee parking lot. We waited at the entrance gate for an hour, and it was clear that we were not getting in without a pass.
Persistence Pays Off
As we sat in the car defeated, I knew I had to find a new way to gain access, and that’s when I noticed the employees leaving the event with wristbands. After several attempts, I was able to convince a couple to sell me their wristbands for cash. It was a risk, but it paid off. I secured two Cyber Rodeo bands and gained access to the year’s greatest party with an opportunity to see the man himself, Elon Musk.
Giga Texas
Once inside, we were blown away by what we saw. We were greeted with goodie bags that included a variety of Tesla merch, a meal pass, and drink tickets. Live DJs provided the perfect soundtrack for the event along with futuristic lighting throughout the factory floor. The first floor interior showcased Tesla’s latest technologies and products, including their automated robots, the new casting machine for the Model Y, and their impressive EV production line, where raw material comes in one end and a new EV comes out the other.
The Cyber Rodeo
Outside, there was an entire festival with more DJ stages, chrome sculptures, and hired performers dressed in the cool cyber aesthetic. Great drinks were flowing, and artists were creating graphics on the Tesla Semi-trailer. Need I forget the petting zoo and custom lighting shading along with giant Tesla coils creating music through high-voltage buzzing.
Tesla’s Latest Technologies and Products
On the top floor of the Giga factory Tesla displayed many Tesla products, including the Semi, the Roadster, the Cybertruck, and the Tesla Optimus concept. The products were displayed in a way that allowed the guests to interact with them and get a feel for what they were all about. There was a large stage with the Texas sun setting behind the live band. We drooled over the simplicity of the Cybertruck, having been reservation holders since day one.
Elon Musk’s Presentation
Before Elon came out, we were treated to an incredible drone show in Tesla style, of course. Then, to the beat of “still dre,” Elon joined the stage riding in the first Tesla produced car. He covered the future of Tesla, including their new batteries, and presented the first Texas-made Model Ys to be publicly delivered. The atmosphere was electric, and fan girls were crying in the front row. It was an incredible event, and we were glad that we were able to experience it. The event concluded with a massive Texas-sized firework show that would blow the boots of any cowboy.
Take Chances
Social engineering can be a powerful tool if used correctly. With the right mindset and a little bit of creativity, you can accomplish amazing things. Getting into the Cyber Rodeo was a challenge, but it was also an unforgettable experience.
